Kafranbel (also spelled Kafr Nabl) is a town in the Idlib Governorate of northwestern Syria. During the Syrian uprising that began in 2011 it became internationally known for its creative, satirical protest banners written in both English and Arabic.

Kafranbel became world-famous for the weekly protest banners it produced during the Syrian revolution. Using humor, pop-culture references and striking artwork, the banners drew global attention to the Syrian people's call for freedom and dignity.

Raed Fares (1972–2018) was a Syrian activist and journalist, the driving force behind Kafranbel's banners and the founder of Radio Fresh, the town's free radio station. He was assassinated on 23 November 2018.
